Links that display the full URL

WCAG 2.4.4 (A) · EN 301 549 9.2.4.4

Some links use a long URL as their visible text.

Why it matters

Some screen readers read URLs out character by character. A sixty-character address becomes a minute of individual letters.

Replace the URL with a description of the destination.

As it is

<a href="https://shop.com/…">https://shop.com/collection/spring-2026/women</a>

As it should be

<a href="https://shop.com/collection/spring-2026/women">Spring 2026 womenswear collection</a>
